Robots for green spaces: mowing large grounds, several sites, maintenance rounds

Robot mowers cut large grounds on a schedule and move from site to site. Our public catalogue does not list one yet: we answer each request individually.

IN BRIEF

Updated

  1. Green-space contractors and grounds managers use robot mowers to cut large areas on a schedule, including slopes and several sites.

  2. Robot Distribution does not list an outdoor robot for green spaces in its public catalogue yet.

  3. Describe the grounds, and we will recommend what can be supplied.

WHAT ROBOTS DO

Three tasks on large grounds.

  1. Mowing large areas

A robot mower cuts sports grounds, parks and estates on a schedule, at a set cutting height.

  2. Slopes and borders

Grounds with slopes and borders need a mower whose published climbing angle and edge cutting match the terrain.

  3. Several sites

Without a perimeter wire, a satellite-guided mower can be moved and set up again on another site.

HOW DEPLOYMENT WORKS

From site survey to after-sales.

See all services
  1. Site survey

We walk the routes with you before any order: passage widths, door thresholds, floor gaps, slopes, lifts and doors, Wi-Fi coverage, charging and water points. The survey decides the model.

  2. Mapping and commissioning

The robot is mapped on site, routes and no-go zones are set, and lifts, doors or call systems are connected where the model supports it.

  3. Training

Operators learn daily use, charging and cleaning, error recovery and the emergency stop. One site lead learns to change routes and maps.

  4. After-sales

Remote diagnosis first, then a part or a technician. Preventive maintenance and software updates can be part of a service contract or of a RaaS fee.

REGULATION

What European law asks, in plain language.

Updated · General information, not legal advice.

Read the Machinery Regulation guide
CE marking and EU declaration of conformityEvery robot we deliver carries the CE marking and comes with the manufacturer's EU declaration of conformity, which we check before delivery.
Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230The Machinery Regulation applies from 20 January 2027 and replaces Directive 2006/42/EC. It adds requirements for autonomous mobile machinery, safety software and protection against corruption.
GDPR and robots with camerasA robot that films or maps a place where people can be identified processes personal data. The operator needs a legal basis, informs the people concerned and limits how long images are kept.
Your risk assessmentAs an employer, you include the robot in the risk assessment of the workplace like any other work equipment. The manufacturer's instructions state the residual risks and the training required.
Robot mower safetyRobot lawn mowers have their own product safety standard, IEC 60335-2-107, published in Europe as EN 50636-2-107. Check the standards listed in the manufacturer's declaration of conformity.

FAQ

Questions grounds managers ask us.

Do you sell robot mowers?

Robot Distribution does not list a robot mower in its public catalogue today. Request a recommendation with the area, the slopes and the number of sites: we tell you which models fit and whether we can supply them.

Can a robot mower work in a public park?

A robot mower in a public space detects obstacles and stops, but the grounds manager still assesses the risks for the public and may restrict mowing hours or areas.

Does a robot mower need a perimeter wire?

Not always. Some professional mowers navigate with satellite positioning (RTK) and vision instead of a wire, which makes moving between sites easier.

Which rules apply to robot mowers?

A robot mower carries the CE marking and is usually designed to EN 50636-2-107. The Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 applies to new machinery from 20 January 2027.
