IN BRIEF

Updated

  1. A public space cleaning robot scrubs station, airport and town hall concourses, sports halls and school corridors, and can sweep forecourts and pavements outdoors.

  2. The Gausium Scrubber 75 scrubs a 750 mm path with 75 L of clean water, recycles its wash water and runs about 4 to 6 h, according to its manufacturer.

  3. Robot Distribution delivers it, maps each site, trains the staff and maintains it, to buy, rent or as RaaS.

WHY

Public space cleaning

Stations, airports, town halls, sports facilities and schools welcome the public every day, on floors that get dirty quickly and must be clean by opening time. Cleaning teams, in-house or contracted, work early mornings and late evenings, often across several buildings.

Robots take the large, repetitive areas: concourses, halls, corridors, forecourts. Staff keep what needs a hand and an eye, washrooms, furniture, bins, incidents, and cleanliness becomes consistent from one day to the next.

HOW IT RUNS

How a public site is cleaned with robots.

  1. Surveying the areas

For each building we list areas, floor types, opening hours and zones the robot can reach, then pick the model per site: a scrubber for halls, a sweeper outdoors.

  2. A pass before opening

The robot scrubs the concourse or hall on its recorded route. In a station or airport concourse, the Gausium Omnie detects dry and wet waste to clean it, according to its manufacturer.

  3. Sweeping the surroundings

Outdoors, the Saite Jingjie S5 sweeper cleans forecourts, pavements and paths with a 1,300 mm width and a 100 L bin with automatic bagging, according to its manufacturer.

  4. Staff follow-up

Staff fill and drain the tanks, check the brushes and finish by hand the areas the robot cannot reach.

BEFORE INSTALLING

What the site survey checks before installation.

  1. Floor types

Tiles, terrazzo, vinyl, sports wood floors, asphalt: each surface is noted, because it sets the cleaning mode, the amount of water and the robot chosen.

  2. Footfall and hours

Opening hours, peak footfall, events and access-controlled areas set the cleaning window.

  3. Outdoor surroundings

For a street sweeper we note slopes, kerbs and pavement widths: the Saite Jingjie S5 handles 12° slopes and 7 cm kerbs, according to its manufacturer.

  4. Storage, water and charging

Each site needs a room for the robot, a socket, a water point and a drain, or space for an automatic station.

FAQ

Public bodies' and facility managers' questions about robotic cleaning.

Which robot for a station or airport concourse?

A large scrubber such as the Gausium Scrubber 75, with a 750 mm scrub width, or the Gausium Omnie, designed for airports and metro stations according to its manufacturer. The choice depends on the area and the passages available.

Can a robot clean a sports hall or a school?

Yes, on open floors. The KEENON C55 scrubs a 550 mm path with 60 L of clean water, according to its manufacturer. On sports wood floors, water dosing follows the floor manufacturer's guidance.

Are there robots that sweep streets?

Yes: the Saite Jingjie S5 is an autonomous sweeper for narrow streets and pavements, rated by its manufacturer at 4,700 m²/h or more, 6 h runtime and IPX5. Using it on public roads is prepared in advance with the local authority's services.

How can a public body acquire a robot?

To buy, rent or as RaaS, under its public procurement rules. We provide the technical documentation needed for the tender.
