OVERVIEW
The PGuard in detail
PGuard, from Tunisian maker Enova Robotics, is a four-wheel-drive autonomous vehicle for patrolling large outdoor and industrial sites. The manufacturer gives it a size of 150 × 110 × 160 cm, a weight of 250 kg including payload, a top speed of 12 km/h and 8 h of patrol before it returns to its station for a 2 h charge, with a battery rated for 3,000 cycles. Four HD colour cameras give 360° vision, and a turret pairs a thermal camera with a day/night camera offering 32× optical zoom for observation up to 500 m.
Oil and gas sites, industrial facilities and extended outdoor perimeters such as logistics yards are the intended ground. Before choosing it, compare your terrain with the limits published by the manufacturer: obstacles up to 20 cm, slopes up to 25° and operation from -20 to +50 °C. Plan the charging station's location and verify Wi-Fi mesh or 4G coverage over the whole circuit, as live turret video depends on it.
Where the Ascento Guard is a nimble two-wheeled detector for routine rounds, the PGuard is the platform to pick when sites are vast, ground is rough and operators must identify events at long range. Enova Robotics was founded in 2014 in Sousse, according to the company. Robot Distribution handles route mapping, commissioning and operator training for European sites.
