The CYBERDYNE Medical HAL Lower Limb Type HAL-ML08 is a rehabilitation robot by CYBERDYNE. Key figures published by the manufacturer: weight 13 kg, runtime 1 h and mDR Class IIa. Robot Distribution supplies it in Europe to buy, rent or as RaaS, with its EU declaration of conformity. Price on request.
OVERVIEW
CYBERDYNE's Medical HAL Lower Limb Type HAL-ML08 is the adult version of this wearable exoskeleton for gait treatment in medical facilities. It reads bioelectrical signals on the wearer's skin to assist the hips and knees. According to the manufacturer, it fits wearers 150–190 cm tall and 40–100 kg with shoe sizes of 18–30 cm, weighs about 13 kg with both legs (9 kg single-leg), delivers up to 40 Nm and runs about 1 hour per battery.
Its intended settings are neurological rehabilitation clinics and hospital gait therapy units, where it is used under medical supervision by trained staff; a HAL Monitor displays device status in real time. The manufacturer gives an overall size of 1,190 × 480 × 440 mm, hip motion from 20° extension to 120° flexion and knee motion from 5° extension to 120° flexion. A clinic should check the space needed to fit the device and that its patient groups match the indications in the manufacturer's instructions for use. The device is CE marked as an EU MDR Class IIa medical device.
Choose the ML08 rather than the paediatric HAL-ML07 when patients are adults: the manufacturer rates it for wearers up to 190 cm and 100 kg, with twice the torque (40 Nm against 20 Nm), at the cost of a heavier frame. Robot Distribution manages regulatory documentation and after-sales follow-up in Europe.
