OVERVIEW

The Universal Robots UR20 in detail

The UR20 combines a 20 kg payload, 25 kg in extended conditions, with a 1750 mm reach, which makes it the long-reach heavy arm of the Universal Robots range. According to the manufacturer, it weighs 64 kg, repeats to ±0.1 mm, moves its tool at up to 5 m/s and draws around 500 W in typical use. It is rated IP65, certified for Class 4 cleanrooms and mounts in any orientation on a Ø245 mm base.

It is built for full-pallet palletizing, welding of large assemblies and heavy material handling where both weight and envelope count. Check the floor or pedestal under a heavy arm with long leverage, the gripper plus case weight against 20 kg, and the pallet height. Its ±0.1 mm repeatability is ample for palletizing and welding, less so for precision insertion.

Robot Distribution can source the UR20 on request and run a palletizing project with a partner integrator, from pallet pattern study to commissioning.
