IN BRIEF
Updated · Source: manufacturer's published specifications
The Universal Robots UR16e is a collaborative robot by Universal Robots. Key figures published by the manufacturer: payload 16 kg, reach 900 mm and axes 6. It also lists degrees of freedom: 6. Robot Distribution supplies it in Europe to buy, rent or as RaaS, with its EU declaration of conformity, from €39,090 ex VAT.
OVERVIEW
The UR16e is the short, heavy-duty arm of the e-Series: 16 kg of payload inside a 900 mm reach. According to the manufacturer, it weighs 33.1 kg, repeats to ±0.05 mm, reaches tool speeds of 3 m/s and draws up to 585 W. It provides 23 configurable safety functions, and its IP54 arm mounts in any orientation on a Ø190 mm base.
Pick it when the load is heavy but the cell is small: heavy part handling, double grippers in machine tending, nut running or compact palletizing beside a line. Before choosing, check the centre of gravity of tool and part, since a load offset from the flange reduces usable capacity, and make sure 900 mm covers both pick and place points without stretching the arm to its limits.
Robot Distribution can source the UR16e on request and size the end effector with a partner integrator.
