IN BRIEF
Updated · Source: manufacturer's published specifications
The KUKA LBR iiwa 14 R820 is a collaborative robot by KUKA. Key figures published by the manufacturer: payload 14 kg, reach 820 mm and axes 7. It also lists ingress protection: IP54. Robot Distribution supplies it in Europe to buy, rent or as RaaS, with its EU declaration of conformity. Price on request.
OVERVIEW
The LBR iiwa 14 R820 is KUKA’s seven-axis lightweight robot, with a joint torque sensor in each of its seven axes so that it senses contact along the whole arm. According to the manufacturer, it carries 14 kg over an 820 mm reach, measures torque to ±2% of maximum and is rated IP54. The seventh axis gives redundant kinematics: the elbow can move while the tool stays in place, which helps in tight spaces and around people. It is controlled by the KUKA Sunrise Cabinet.
Typical applications are sensitive assembly such as force-controlled insertion, direct human-robot collaboration, research and laboratory work, and cleanroom production with the CR version. It mounts on the floor, ceiling or wall (floor only for the CR version). Torque sensing pays off only when the process is taught to use it, so plan for force-controlled programming. Published repeatability figures differ between sources; confirm it on the current KUKA data sheet.
Robot Distribution can source the LBR iiwa on request and work with an integrator experienced in force-controlled applications.
