OVERVIEW
Hanshow, the electronic shelf label specialist founded in 2012 and based in Jiaxing, launched SPatrol in 2026 as part of its NexMate range: a robot that patrols store aisles to spot out-of-stocks, labelling errors and planogram deviations. According to the manufacturer, images are processed on board by an edge AI module and each product is cross-checked against Hanshow ESL data, for a stated recognition accuracy of 95%.
SPatrol is designed for supermarkets and hypermarkets, where shelf data analysis feeds replenishment and pricing teams. Because the label cross-check is central to its accuracy, the first question is whether the store runs, or will run, Hanshow ESLs and the NexMate platform. Buyers should also check aisle widths and obstacles such as promotional displays and pallets, schedule patrols around opening hours and restocking, and agree on how results reach store staff. Hanshow does not publish dimensions, weight, runtime or camera details, so these are confirmed with the manufacturer during the project.
Unlike Brain Corp Inventory Scan, which rides on autonomous floor scrubbers, SPatrol is a dedicated inspection robot: it is the better fit for stores already equipped with Hanshow labels, or for retailers that prefer image processing kept on premises. Robot Distribution can run a pilot in one store and coordinate the link with your shelf label system.
