OVERVIEW
Coco 2 is the second-generation sidewalk delivery robot from Coco Robotics, a Los Angeles company founded in 2020. According to the manufacturer, it travels at up to 21 km/h, covers 32 km per battery and climbs 30% grades, while its cargo box holds four 18-inch pizzas. It turns 360° in place and perceives its surroundings with solid-state lidar, cameras and GPS.
The robot is built for restaurant and grocery orders in city centres, where a swappable battery and quick-swap tyres keep it in service between runs. Anyone considering it should check local rules on robots using sidewalks, curb and crossing layouts, distances between kitchens and customers against the stated range, and mobile network and GPS reception along the routes. Coco runs its robots as a service with delivery platforms rather than selling units.
Compared with the Starship robot, Coco 2 is built around speed and range for dense urban restaurant delivery, whereas Starship focuses on campuses and industrial sites with curb climbing and an insulated compartment. Robot Distribution can act as the contact for municipalities or operators who want to study a pilot under the manufacturer's service model.
