IN BRIEF

The Boston Dynamics Stretch is an industrial logistics robot by Boston Dynamics. Key figures published by the manufacturer: 600–800 cases per hour, payload 23 kg and runtime 16 h. It also lists operating temperature: 5 to 45 °C. Robot Distribution supplies it in Europe to buy, rent or as RaaS, with its EU declaration of conformity. Price on request.
OVERVIEW
Stretch is Boston Dynamics’ mobile robot for unloading trucks and containers: a vacuum-gripper arm on an omnidirectional base, guided by a vision system trained to detect boxes. According to the manufacturer, it moves 600 to 800 cases an hour, handles cases up to 23 kg and from 15 to 91 cm, and reaches 3.2 m high. Its battery lasts up to 16 h and recharges to 90% in under 2 h, so it works without power or air lines.
It fits distribution centres and parcel hubs where floor-loaded trailers are still emptied by hand. Check the case mix (weights, sizes and the packaging surfaces the vacuum must grip), dock door spacing, the 1 × 1.25 m footprint inside trailers and the 5 to 45 °C operating range if docks are unheated. Plan the hand-off to the conveyor that receives the cases.
Robot Distribution can source Stretch on request and scope the dock layout with you before a project is quoted.
